For some of your promotions, you can allow your customers to combine discounts. You can choose from suitable combinations that allow customers to get the best possible discount based on their shopping cart. Automatic discounts and discount codes can be configured to combine. shopify.com
When you configure combining discounts, you choose which discount tiers can be combined. Discount classes are like discount categories. The classes you can create are Order Discounts, Product Discounts, and Shipping Discounts. Discount types are more specific, e.g. B. Buy X, get Y or a product discount amount.
You can combine the following discount classes:
Order discounts with free shipping discounts
Product discounts (On X, then Y, discount amount) with free shipping discounts
Product discounts with other discounts. Order discounts
Note
are currently not combinable with product discounts.
If automatic discounts are enabled in your shop and the customer also uses discount codes, the best discount or best combination of discounts will be automatically added to the shopping cart. Regardless of whether the discount is automatic or with a code, the best discount for the customer is always selected.
When a customer enters multiple discount codes at checkout that exist but cannot be combined, the following message is displayed: Some discount codes cannot be used together. We used the best combination.

Check if an active discount can be combined
Never use more than one discount for a single item in an order.
If two or more discounts are applied but are not cumulative (due to the discount combination setting or the contents of the cart), the best discount for the customer's cart is always taken into account. For example, if you have an incompatible 20% discount on your stocking collection and an incompatible $30 discount on your Christmas stocking collection, and the customer uses both in their shopping cart, the better discount applies to the customer.
Multiple discounts will only be applied to an order if the setting for a single discount allows a combination.
If you create a new discount that you want to combine with another discount, you don't have to configure both at the same time. You can define and save the first discount and then create a second discount. If each discount is active and set to stack, it will automatically stack when a customer uses both to place an order
. You can have a maximum of 25 automatic discounts active in your store at a time.
Customers can combine a maximum of 5 compatible discount codes per order.
